Former Municipal Market 3 (Yi Teng Complex)

Yi Teng Complex, or Public Market 3, occupies the site of what was once a municipal slaughterhouse. Originally owned by Phuket City Municipality, the land was later leased to a private developer who transformed it into the Yi Teng Complex in 1991. The project included a series of commercial buildings and the third public fresh market, intended as a rental space for local trading. However, it closed down not long after opening. Today, the building has taken on a new life as a popular gathering spot for street artists to practice and exhibit their work, while the surrounding neighbor-hood has been revitalized by the return of well-known cafés and a variety of small local businesses.
