Ampannee Satoh

Ampannee Satoh is a visual artist whose work in photography and video explores themes of cultural identity, faith, nationhood, and the complex narratives of her native Pattani. 

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Photography) from Rangsit University (2006), continued her studies at L’École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, France (2010), and received her Master of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from Silpakorn University (2013).

Her solo exhibitions include “Ports of Refuge” at the Vargas Museum, University of the Philippines (2025), “Du port de Pattani au port de La Rochelle” at Centre Intermondes, France (2022) and “The Light 24:31” at Patani Artspace, Thailand (2018). 

She has participated in international group exhibitions such as the Sharjah Biennial, United Arab Emirates (2019) and “Nation, Narration, Narcosis” at Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart, Germany (2022). Ampannee’s work is held in collections including the Singapore Art Museum, MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, and the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC), Ministry of Culture, Thailand. She was also the recipient of the Excellence Award in Photography from the Young Thai Artist Award 2007.
