Three Realms: The Universe of Buddhist Art

“Tung Chai” (or a victory flag), a symbol of auspicious omen, adorns the intellectual adornment of the Mae Fah Luang University’s academic gowns. The decorations are inspired by the celestial palaces of Tavatimsa realm, the Rat pattern of Chinese zodiac symbolizing the birth year of Her Royal Highness Srinagarindra: The Princess Mother, the pattern of Nagas: the Buddhist’s protectorates, and the Tiger pattern representing the year when the university was founded, corresponding to the year of Tiger of Chinese zodiac in 1998. In addition, the Open World Buddha is the symbol of the Buddhist Art Program, Mae Fah Luang University.

นิทรรศการศิลปะร่วมสมัยในรูปแบบพุทธศิลปกรรม ถ่ายทอดภูมิปัญญาดั้งเดิมเรื่องไตรภูมิ จักรวาลวิทยาในพุทธศาสนา สะท้อนพลังความศรัทธา จัดแสดงผลงานโดยอาจารย์ผู้สอน และผู้เรียนหลักสูตรระยะสั้นสาขาวิชาพุทธศิลปกรรม ตั้งแต่รุ่นที่ 1 ถึง รุ่นที่ 3 สร้างสรรค์ผลงานผ่านแนวคิดและองค์ความรู้จากคติความเชื่อ และ สัญลักษณ์แบบอุดมคติไทย สร้างสรรค์ผ่านวิธีคิดอันเป็นผลิตผลทางพุทธปัญญาของตัวศิลปิน ภายใต้แนวคิด  ไตรภูมิ : จักรวาลพุทธศิลป์ เพื่อจุดประสงค์ในการถ่ายทอดความงามผ่านสัญลักษณ์ที่ถูกสร้างสรรค์และจัดวางอย่างประณีต ตั้งแต่แรกเห็น
